Air Cargo Transportation Increasing in Demand

It’s no secret that the economy has been on a downslide for the past couple of years. Nearly every industry has been affected by this economic downturn, including the shipping industry. Air cargo transportation had been decreasing in demand industry-wide for several months, but that all appears to be changing.

A recently released report found that air cargo transportation demand has increased for the first time since July 2008. This is because global trade has been increasing, and more companies are shipping their goods around the world. It’s certainly a positive sign that the economy is turning a corner, and as demand for air shipping continues to increase, it’s an indicator that companies are growing their business.

If you’re thinking of using air cargo transportation for your business, there are a few things you should keep in mind:

  1. Not all shipping companies are the same—The quality of service varies greatly from one air shipping company to the next. Many shipping companies limit the type of goods you can ship and the destinations you can ship them to. At Amerijet, we’ve been offering reliable air shipping for more than 30 years, serving 550+ airports.
  2. Beware of newer shipping companies—Thanks to the increase in demand for air freight shipping, there will likely be new shipping companies popping up. Be careful. You don’t want to work with an inexperienced shipping company as they don’t have the hands-on experience or the resources of an established company.
  3. Rates aren’t everything—Sure, you want to get a great rate, but cheaper isn’t always better. Instead of looking for the cheapest rate, you should be looking for the best overall value.
